0:03.3	I am your host, Claire Watkins.
0:04.9	It is May 7th, and we are talking San Diego Wave, sitting in third coming off a brutal 2024, big turnaround, two-fold kind of resurgence in roster and in style of play.
0:18.4	I love watching this team play, and I didn't expect that.
0:22.1	Let's jump into it.
0:27.6	So the San Diego wave sitting in third place in the NWSL standings after seven games played.
0:35.1	Even want to shout out that they're actually ahead of a couple
0:37.8	of teams that have played eight games, which of course we all expected, right? We all said, yeah,
0:42.6	sure, San Diego, big year in 2025. We've got four wins, one draw, two losses. Most significantly,
0:50.0	they are on a three game winning streak, just a complete turnaround from the end of last season,
0:54.9	which was a bit of a disaster. And it's not really just the wins. And the early going of an NWSL
1:00.6	season, you can look at strength of schedule, you can look at like how things happened,
1:04.7	or maybe they gutted out some results and you think, okay, maybe they're tougher than we thought,
1:09.2	but still have that next level to go.
1:11.4	But really as encapsulated, I don't know if people caught.
1:14.3	And if you didn't, I kind of recommend go on to Paramount Plus, rewatch it.
1:18.4	San Diego's game against Bay FC this last weekend, they beat them two to one.
1:23.7	And the product that they're putting on the pitch is really enjoyable to watch. Now, that game was
1:29.4	maybe platonic ideal because you're looking at two teams that like to move fast. It was end to end.
1:33.9	There was a lot of offense, a lot of good passing into the final third, just a lovely game of
1:39.4	NWSL football with a, you know, a decisive winner at the end. But I was very struck by how much not
1:46.5	only we're seeing San Diego get results, but just how much I'm enjoying watching them play,
