Now, when we're talking about the doctrine of predestination,

we are not talking specifically about questions of whether or not

you were determined in advance to be sitting in the chair

in which you are sitting right now.

The doctrine of predestination is concerned specifically

with the question of our ultimate destination.

Whether it's over a cup of coffee or after church,

if two Christians are having a rather heated conversation,

it's probably a short list of topics they might be discussing,

and maybe coming to the top would be that of predestination.

evoke an emotional response?

Well, I think it's because at the end of the day,

we realize that when we speak about God's sovereignty in salvation,

we're also talking about the souls of people we love,

family members, and friends.
