U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sets the tone at the Munich Security Conference,

telling European leaders they still have a role to play in keeping the peace in the world. While Europe and NATO does need the United States,

there is a part for Europe and NATO in the U.S. national security plans.

I think that's a critical bilateral piece there that, despite some of the tensions,

is now moving forward in a stronger way than ever before.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio's address this weekend to Western Powers at the Munich

Security Conference in Germany has probably left a number of geopolitical watchers on edge.

It is no secret President Trump

has put the proverbial screws to leaders of NATO partners demanding they pick up the tabs

for their collective defense. But part of Secretary O'Rubio's remarks addresses another matter,

that is, the defense of Western culture. And it was a direct condemnation of globalism as practiced by

much of Western Europe, of Canada, and what is being pushed back upon by President Trump

through his very well articulated policies of border security and immigration controls.

Controlling who and how many people enter our countries, this is not an expression of xenophobia.
