In the middle of the night, I woke up in a cold sweat, and I came up with a brilliant NFL rule idea compromise.

I don't know why it hit me in the middle of the night, but sometimes, like, I go to sleep thinking about how everybody argues with each other.

Not just in politics, but in sports.

Sometimes there are compromises that are just so simple.

And you may not love the compromise because that's the point of a compromise.

You're meeting somewhere in the middle.

But it hit me last night at about 2.45 in the morning.

I woke up in a cold sweat.

I wrote it down because I didn't want to forget it.

And here's what I will tell you.

It's a compromise between NFL owners and the NFL Players Association that could get us to an 18th game.

18th game. I thought of a compromise that would make the players say okay and we all get to an

18th game. It's happening anyways, but so just tell us. Oh, you want to tell you now? Yes. All right. You ready for this? Yes. Let me hear it. Don't yell at me. You got to think about it.

because your first reaction is to hate it. Didn't we have a compromise yesterday about the

pass interference rule? Oh yeah, we did? Yeah, we got to reopen this, what are we talking about?

We eliminate overtime

in the regular season.

I don't hate that. We now have ties in the

NFL, and here's how it works.

So how do you mitigate the ties

at the end of the season? That's the only thing.
