The reason McVeigh is being so honest is because he regrets something he did earlier in his career.

I will say this though, Fitz.

What's been really important to me is when I look back on it, the Jared Goff situation could have been handled better on my part.

You know, in terms of, you know, the clarity

of the dialogue in the midst of that. And you never know which direction this is going to go,

but when you sit there and you say, man, I definitely, you know, I had some growing up to do,

could have done a better job for Jared. There's a lot more respect and, you know, etiquette that

he deserved in the way that that was handled on my end,

that was poor on my part. And you want to make sure that, you know, as you try to apply your,

you know, learning lessons from your mistakes, that you're at least trying to communicate

with clarity. By the way, I have the hugest man crush on Sean McVeigh.

Not only is he an awesome head coach, and I don't know what that is because I'm a jet fan.

Like, what's an awesome head coach?

I have no idea.

But again, on his own, he's dying on the sword and basically saying, I screwed up big time.

He wasn't even asked about it. And who does that?

Sean McVeigh. Exactly. I'm saying most coaches don't.

Nobody. Because they're too insecure about how they're going to be viewed and what people

are going to say about them that they protect every little fiber of their successes

and failures. They don't want it dissect it.

That's what it comes down to.
