There are now mandatory evacuations for hundreds of thousands of people in Florida as Hurricane

Ian continues to get stronger. Residents and officials are bracing for impact,

and the entire state has been put under a state of emergency, which will free up needed resources.

Tropical storm force winds are expected to arrive in some areas today,

and Ian could hit Florida's west coast as a major hurricane as soon as tomorrow.

For the cities of Tampa and St. Petersburg, it could be the first direct hit by a major hurricane

in more than 100 years. But before it hits the US, it's impacting Cuba first.

Some 50,000 Cuban citizens have been evacuated to safer areas as Cuban's western coast

is expecting hurricane force winds and life-threatening storm surge early this morning.
