story lines throughout the auto tech industry, let's call it,

both on the EV side, on the AV side and more

over the past week to 10 days that I thought it would be a good time to do one of our occasional reporter roundtables here on this episode of the podcast and we can catch up on the news and maybe in the process

catch our listeners up as well.

One of the stories I wanted to ask you about that that seems like it's kind of

sent a shudder of sorts through through certain corners of the industry is

General Motors said earlier this week that it's going to push back the launch of its electric pickup until late 2025 in one of the phrases that was in their announcement that sounded particularly ominous to me was to align with evolving EV demand.

What's going on there? Is this specific to General Motors? Is it something bigger in the industry? What do you know?

No, I don't think it's specific to General Motors. I mean, there could be some details that are specific to General orders. I mean there could be some details that are that's specific to GM. They do have their

own ultium battery platform could be related to that. We don't know exactly. But this is an industry shift and I think what it comes down to you and

our listeners will will be able to read this in our editorial this week but the EvA transition often seems immediate because of all the investment and all the

hype around EVs, but it's really not, it's not immediate, it's going to take a long time for mass market consumers to buy EVs and for automakers to really, you know, get into high volume EV production so it's not even though the development is a

sprint the acceptance in the production is not it's going to be kind of you know
