There are commercial barges laden with goods, speeding water taxes in the distance in the harbors, some huge cargo ships and the odd leisure

motorboat on a day out as well. The famous Erasmus Bridge looks over it all and the city

centre provides a fantastic backdrop, which is why come August this place will play a key role

in one of Europe's newest sporting events.

The event is much bigger because you're not in a local gym, but we are hosting it in a big city

like Rotterdam. Yeah, the budget is big. If you compare it with other multi-sport events around

the world, it's small. This opportunity is then much more attractive indeed

than just one single event as a burst.

So we're always looking for things that in the end

also will positively influence our brand.

So you found something that you had no idea before your accident

that you would be any good at,

and you've committed yourself to it?

Yeah, completely. In the beginning it was for fun, and then we said, let's try to do the best we can.

We're talking about the European Parach Championships, a new concept for the continent,

which is going to feature 10 parasports at some of Rotterdam's most recognisable locations,

including here on what's known as the Kopvan South.
