Every minute, an entire garbage truck worth of plastic waste is dumped into the world's oceans.

Plastic showing up in the stomachs and intestines of wild animals and in places on earth that even humans don't

occupy.

Our love of it isn't slowing down either.

We are continuing to increase our use of plastics and that is set to continue to occur until at least 2028.

And while we usually associate plastic pollution with the products,

bottles, bags, wrappers, manufacturing these things from fossil fuels has a massive impact too.

Which is why environmental law charity, client Earth and 13 other organizations stepped into a Flemish

Court on Tuesday.

Their aim is to try and stop a huge new petrochemical plant being built in Antwer, Belgium, and in doing

so slow the scale of plastic production in Europe.

But what does actually making this stuff do to us and to the environment? Can the plant be stopped?

And what will it take to finally get to grips with plastic pollution?
