corporate vice president, MAA, Canada and Latin America at Edwards Life Science, one of

MedTech Europe member companies. Welcome, Jean-Luc, it's a pleasure to have you with us today.

Thank you, Caroline. Jean-Luc, on top of your daily work, you've also been leading the cardiovascular sector

group here at MetTech Europe.

And as such, you accepted our invitation to talk about what the MetTech sector has achieved

in the field of cardiovascular, but also to look at the challenges ahead in the European

landscape and beyond.

But before we dive in, I'd like to hear more on why the MetTech industry decided to engage on a topic like cardiovascular health.

And today, cardiovascular disease like heart failure, stroke, coronary disease, structural

heart disease, to name a few, still claim about 5,000 lives per day in Europe and cost

our health care system around 210 billion euros per year.

They don't make any difference of age and gender.

They can strike at any point in one life.

So we understand here the importance of talking about this topic today.
