Hello and welcome to NewsHour. It's coming to you live from the BBC World Service studios in central London. I'm Tim Frags.

It is perhaps not a surprise. It is still stunning to look around and see the number of people who are saying this is a historic shift.

What Donald Trump has said and done in the last 24

0:23.6

hours about a Ukraine-Russia peace deal, how all this presages a huge change not just for Ukraine,

believes in alliances. But make no mistake, President Trump will not allow anyone to turn Uncle Sam into Uncle Sucker.

Tough language all round at the NATO Defence Minister's meeting.
