and um my sobriety date is 6996 it's 20 years i haven't had a drink in 20 years and boy am I thirsty.

No. No, I thought I said to my husband, I said, can I say that? No, not really. No, I actually

like being sober. It's, it's, I didn't think I'd like being sober, but, uh, you know, it's, it's really

working well for me. Uh, I have this really great big life because I'm sober today. And I didn't

have, I had a teeny tiny little shrunken life before, one that was just this manipulating

life, this like, I didn't know really all the stuff that I was doing and all the kind of

the work it took to be me and try to get what I needed and try to overcome, you know, the next

day hangovers, the explaining to work, why I didn't show up or why I was late. I had no idea

how difficult my life was and And to have this big,

big, big, sober life today is just, is just mind-blowing. I don't deserve it. I didn't do anything

really to get it except for to follow some instructions from people and just do what I was told and, and do what, you know, have, well, there's a lot of stuff to do.

But it wasn't really that hard in the light of the other life, right? But my home group is the Duck Island, and we meet Monday nights. It's a one-hour meeting. It's really nice. No poofed up personalities. We're just a simple little group.

We talk about solution and it's nice because it's a Monday night and so we're kind of not taking off the

the Friday, Saturday night deal and it's in Greenwood. So it's really centrally located i love it there i love the people

there um i um i i got i got i got i got a wave of emotion when uh you announced yourself

april and i'm sorry to say it from the podium you know i'm just like I just was like whoa and I just

my ego just went just got smashed because it's so important that that you're here

tonight and I just want to welcome anybody who's brand new in AA because you are the most

important person and really I mean you know we do this we we we we we love. We want, like, it's almost like that. You want to stand on top of a box and just, and yell it out. Like, there is a better way of living. And there is, it's like, it's possible. Because I'm a person that I drank the minute they said, do you want something? I said, yes.
