My name is Sandy and I'm an alcoholic.

My sobriety date is August the 8th, 2003.

I want to read a few definitions for you as I start and I always like to try to give you

something to think about while you're here in my story and the two words that I like

for you to think about or hope because we share our experience, strength and hope.

And today I'm going to tell you in a general way what it used to be like, what happened

to me and what it's like now.

There'll probably be a little bit more about what it's like now because I will qualify

myself but you know alcohol is in the rear view mirror for me now and you know I really

enjoy life and that's the other message of hope that I want to give you is that if you're

new, the other word that I want you to focus on is perseverance which means don't give

up no matter what, no matter what happens, don't stop going day A and that's the biggest

message that I want to share with you guys today.

So I'm going to read, I have to put my glasses on because that's what happens as you get

older.

So anyway, the definition of perseverance is the continued effort to do or achieve something

despite difficulties, failures or oppositions.
