Hey, I'm Leslie. I'm an alcoholic.

My sobriety date is July 31st, 2009. My home group is the tradition group. I have a sponsor

who has a sponsor, and I sponsor other women.

I do not love telling my story.

I think that that's probably fairly common for most of us.

Lisa was telling her story at my home group, and I was the chairperson that evening for the meeting,

and she caught me.

And she said, hey, while I've got got you can I get you on the schedule for my home group and I said I know I'm supposed to say yes to

a commitment and so of course I will get out my calendar and find a time that I'm

available and so here I am although I will say that this

evening I left my house during the witching hour for my children who are boys ages 4 and 10

and I was a little thrilled to leave them with my husband so that he could deal with that mess

I only have the opportunity to have

two children and a husband because of this program. And so I'm very grateful for that. I grew up in Georgia.

I have lived in Georgia pretty much all of my life except for a brief stint semester that I did in Australia when I thought I wanted

to be in the behavioral science unit of the FBI. And for some reason, Australia was the place to go

to study profiling. And so there I went. And then I spent a summer in Pennsylvania with my

boyfriend and making amends for the groceries

that I stole while I was there was really interesting 15 years later.
