I'd like to thank you young for hosting today and for inviting me to come and share a little of my experience strength and hope.

I'm a warm welcome teaching every one of you here today. I know a few faces in the room.

I'm pleased to see my fellow gloves region Fraser. I've not seen him for a while.

But to all my new friends welcome and especially if you're new I notice that there were one or two who were indicating that they were early in their journey.

You know, please stick around and certainly do not judge alcohol. It's an honour to know what you're about to hear from this crazy squad.

I'm just an ex-drunk who is found a way to live for that new life. It's promising this read it through the 12th step programme of our colleagues anonymous.

Through a dependence upon a power better myself that I still do not understand but it absolutely exists for me.

And you know, today I want to start off with a few moments of gratitude because thanks, Gareth.

Thanks, Gareth. I promise I have a new life. If I'd go in the life that I deserve by my actions, my life would have ended at the age of 24

with a little by-line in the local Glasgow newspaper, 24-year-old man found dead in flat fire, no suspicious circumstances.

That was the way my drinking took me. I was so intoxicated one night in Covent Hill and South Santa Glasgow that I could easily have died.

They were not for the intervention of a power greater than me that had my then-girlfriend come 10 minutes early,

and she normally would have defined me in a flat full of smoke and saved me basically.

So I have been given a 37.5 year extension to my life because my sobriety, that means me very, very old, but it may be very grateful as well.

You know, I've had this wonderful extension to my life, but you know, for a long, long time, I thought that my problem was drinking per se,

and that the solution was just not to drink. And it's one of the reasons why I picked this redic because I'm going to share my experience being strength and hope for the next just under half an hour around the redic.
