My name is Gunther.

I'm a grateful member of the Worldwide Fellowship of Alonon and one day at a time I've been

working my program since April 4, 1987.

Now that reminds me of a story I heard from a friend who said she was in her home group

sitting next to a newcomer after the meeting.

The newcomer turned to her and asked, how long have you been coming to this meeting, honey?

She said, oh, 23 years, woman looked at her and said, well, honey, don't you get it?

Let me see, look back and say, well, no, but I'd leak a little.

And I think that's what I am.

I'm like an old tire.

I'd leak a little and I need to go back to my meetings on a regular basis just to get

filled up again with the recovery that Alonon has provided me.

I want to thank, first of all, the committee for asking me to be here, Don, and everyone.

I want to thank Tim for being so grateful, picking me up at the airport, Vic, for riding

along with us, keeping us entertained.

And for all of you to make me feel so at home in the 36 hours I've been here, it's just

amazing to me to be here and to see so many faces, but also to see so many men who are
