I am an alcoholic, my name is Connie, and I am sober today and anything after that is

a bonus for this alcoholic.

I've never been at such a large, close, women's meeting of alcoholics enormous and it's

great.

And I'd like to thank the committee for asking me to come and share it a night and robbing

my convention buddy for the weekend.

I phoned my partner to say a night last night and he said, well, I'm going to come down

there and drag and hang around the back and keep you honest.

I don't see him in the UK, I've been looking back there, I wouldn't put a pass in.

You know, the very first time I came here to a roundup, I was a couple months sober.

And somebody gave me an orange pinto and it had been rear-ended so it was back in, was

all squashed in and the passenger side was wired shut so we all had to get in the driver's

side.

And there were seven of us coming down here, nobody had any money and we had to bring

all our gear with us and we were all going to share a room so we took out the back seat

and that way we could all pile in and get down here and on the back there was a bumper

sticker that said, I'm a friend of Bill W.
