It's wonderful to be here.

In front of you this morning, my stomach is a little bit butterflies,

and thank you, Betty, for those beautiful words. It made me very teary for some reason.

It's sort of a surprise. I want to thank the committee for asking me to be here and share

with you this morning. The last time, I was just trying to remember the last time I was in this hotel, and it was

just a couple of months after we were married, and I think it was the Georgia Prepaid Convention,

and we came over for one night and then went right back home again.

But I can't help but comparing that time with this time.

And the wonderful thing about it is at that time, I didn't think it could get any better.

And I think that's what a lot of us feel when we come into Alcoholics Anonymous and we start

feeling better and things in our life start going well and

everything starts coming together and we get to a point where we don't think it can get any better.

And for all of you who have been around for a few days or a few months or a few years,

you all know as I do that it continues to get better.

And I still have that tendency today to wonder how it can get better.
