Thank you, my name is Caroline, I'm an alcoholic and by rights I should be drunk and so just

for today, although I was thinking on my way up here, what a miracle, what a miracle that

I am sober today and that all of us, extra hunks, are sober today.

And I just want to say, you know, who but a sober bunch of alcoholics could have given

us such a wonderful lunch and thank you very much, beautifully organised and it's

amazing really if you think of, yeah, most of us couldn't organise our way out for paper

bag by the time we came into this fellowship.

So I don't think I've ever had so long to speak at a meeting so I thought, well, you're

going to get my story.

So here it comes, as I said, I am an alcoholic, I know I don't look like one today but there

is no doubt in my mind that I have a physical allergy to alcohol and that I had a mental

obsession that will kill me and that started for me very early on as you can tell from

my voice born with a fairly silver spoon in my mouth and to a very, you know, proper family

with a good education and all the advantages in life really and I'm one of the things

I thought at the end of my drinking, why am I such a failure?

Because I knew I'd been given so much and I knew I felt emotional today, but I was given

really everything in many ways and so there is no, without the holism, I often hear people
