Whenever I have the privilege speaking by the way, congratulations for what a great sober

fest this 85 has been, I've had a great time and it's a great privilege to be asked to

talk at any time in AA but particularly at a big festive occasion, I love it.

What I do when I talk is I do two things, I use as an outline out preamble to the best

of my ability so that I would remember that my primary purpose of being up here is to

keep buckling sober and then having achieved that to help the new person to find this program.

The new person in my book is that person and we saw this stood up treatment center

the first day, first week, first month, first year, there have been some people that have

been around AA longer than I have been in, there's a little different, so they're all new

and get this spiritual program started, let's defer this out west I've ever been invited

so maybe my favorite AA story will be alright, however Johnny Carson did get a hold of it

one time and I was a national rondit but it goes like this, I was a fella that was talking

at a big meeting like this and he was one of the richest men in the world and his purpose

of going to meetings like these big meetings weren't AA, was to tell him how he got so

rich and so they're all there and he says you remember I had a little store here in

Salem and the Safeway put a big store up and they squeezed me out and they gave me $10,000
