My name is Bob, I am alcoholic.

It's only through the grace of a God that I was afraid to believe in, that I've accessed

and maintained in my life through a process outlined in a book titled Alcoholics Anonymous.

The ability to remain reasonably sponsorable and a persistent and consistent effort in our

primary purpose of trying to forget ourselves and devote our lives to helping others

and consequently, I haven't had a drink or any mind or emotion altering medication since

October 31st, 1978 and that's the miracle in my life.

I want to welcome anybody that's new, especially the guys that came up and got the chips for

being brand new. Wow, amazing.

It's the only organization on the planet that will give you an applause and a little gift

for burning your life to the ground recently, I won't get that at the PTA, I'll tell you that.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a little different here, if you're new, if you're new and you're like me,

you've probably tried a bunch of stuff. I mean by the time I got the alcoholics anonymous, I

primal screamed, I would rational emotive therapy, gestalt therapy, I became, I worked in the field

for a while, I did transcendental meditation, I did SGI Buddhism, my God, if it came up on the

radar and it looked like it might help me, I took a run at it because God knows I need something

as the alcohol, as the effect of the alcohol and combinations of alcohol and drugs started to bleed
