Summary

It’s true crime, mystery, and the paranormal all rolled up into one historic location – Alcatraz! Alcatraz Island is a small island a little over one mile off the coast of San Francisco. It’s home to the infamous Alcatraz federal prison which housed the worst of the worst criminals for 29 years before it was shut down in 1963. Al Capone, George “Machine Gun” Kelly, and Robert Stroud, The Bird Man of Alcatraz, were among its famous inmates. It’s the also the inspiration for the 1979 Clint Eastwood movie, “Escape From Alcatraz” which was based on the true story about 3 inmates who allegedly successfully escaped from the prison.
