Thank you very much. Thank you very much. It's great to have you here. As always before we get into the interview itself, tell our viewers and our listeners a little bit about who you are, how are you where you are, what's been your story?

Well, my story, I mean I have a very kind of cosmopolitan background to begin with, so I was kind of born in Hong Kong, grew up in Canada, moved to London.

You know, I've got, you know, Jewish, Chinese, Latino in my background.

So I've got that very kind of international, lived in Japan for eight years.

But the study, or you know, what I study is nationalism and that's partly because if you grow

up abroad you're much more aware of you know it's

problematized the idea of what is your country what's it about so I

develop this interest in nations and national identity so that's something

I've focused on for over 20 years.
