I think Trump is aware of the fact that many Americans are sick and tired of endless wars in the Middle East,

certainly would not be interested in a war in Iran.

I did think it was interesting after the first Netanyahu Trump meeting when that was the first time Trump's voice this notion

of Trump Gaza and talking about it as this like great piece of real estate and that, you know,

you just have to remove all the Palestinians. And there was some question soon after of, well,

what do you mean like with U.S. troops? And the immediate reaction from Republican senators, including people like Lindsey Graham,

who's usually a total hawk, but just saying, no way, are we sending U.S. troops to occupy Gaza,

just recognizing the fact that Americans are really tired of these endless deployments to the

Middle East. My understanding is this understanding on

Trump's part informs why he's reaching out to Iran, despite, I'm sure, Netanyahu telling him,

no, you shouldn't have talks with Iran. You should just bomb Iran. You should be preparing a military

reaction. So my hope is that something positive comes out of the talks with Iranian officials

and that those are able to progress.

I wish that Trump was willing to use that kind of pressure on Israel when it came to Gaza

and the West Bank.

Dr. Sheila, it's hard not to come away with the conclusion listening to you.

You know, his domestic policy aside, and that's a big caveat,

that Trump's at least willingness to say maybe we're not going to do World War III with Iran

makes him a better foreign policy president

than Joe Biden. Whether you think that's true because of the affirmative unwillingness to go

as far as Netanyahu would like him to go, or because of the ways that he's like unwittingly

exposing that America was never acting in good faith to begin with.
