Summary

Daniel had the most incredible career imaginable; he was transported as a teenage captive to a pagan empire and became the primary confidante to the ruler of Babylon. When Babylonia was taken over by its enemies, he rose to the second or third position in the Persian Empire. There are only two people in the Bible other than Jesus Christ of which no evil is spoken, Joseph and Daniel. The book of Daniel is in two halves: the first six chapters are historical, which deal with the adventures and career of this remarkable man. The second six chapters are some of the most pivotal and important prophecies of the entire Bible. Without a clear understanding of the book of Daniel you will not understand the times in which we live. This study contains 16 hours of verse by verse teachings. 0:28.6	In today's study, Chuck begins his teaching on the book of Daniel, chapter 11, verses 1 through 35.
0:49.2	Well, we are in Daniel, and we are in session 13.
0:56.0	And we're going to explore chapter 11, that is the first 35 verses of it. Chapter 12 is very short chapter, and we'll take the verses 36 to the end of 11 and 12 in the next session, the final session.
1:03.0	But in Daniel 11, the first two verses will summarize the Persian Empire, and the next two verses, three and four,
1:11.4	will summarize the Greek Empire.
1:12.9	So the first four verses are sort of a recap, if you will, of what we've already talked
1:18.2	about.
1:19.6	But then we have verses 5 through 35.
1:23.9	And that's going to detail the tensions through the various dynasties of both the Seleucid Empire
1:31.3	and the, which is the portion that Seleucus took from the original Greek Empire, and the Ptolemy's.
1:39.3	And that rivalry will, in effect, Israel finds itself sandwiched between these two struggling

1:49.0	And this is going to cover the majority of the time what we call between the Testaments.
