I'm Mike Schmidt, 40-year-old-old-boy podcast.

How was your week? How's your week, Ben?

I'm going to tell you right off. I don't know what this show is going to be this week.

I'm going to do my best because honestly I'm terrified. I'm going to do it wrong, which is not a good way to function

when you're trying to do something creative.

But it doesn't even need to be creative this week.

It just needs to be me me talking and laying down some tracks and talking about what's in my head and in my heart and how I feel.

And I won't lie to you, it seems silly to even be like this and not really silly but silly.

And as I talk more, maybe you'll understand.

I'll explain it.

Yes, it's Friday, by the way, the show's late because I wanted to do.

I thought about doing this show one way, and then I had a brilliant idea about doing it a different way.

And then that idea has consumed me and now i look like

that fucking meme where the guy's got the string and then the post-it notes and all that shit on

the wall and i'm just trying to figure out how to best build a collage that uh that is necessary

that that's the only word i can i can think of is that it's necessary so um and it

this makes it about me and I don't want to and there's different approaches to this too

where it could be a celebration of sorts or and it could and it will be um it it'll be part
