for building healthy churches. Guys, I want to talk about the pastor's prayer life.

Why is a prayerless pastor an oxymoron?

I don't know if they're an oxymoron.

I think they're probably fairly plentiful if I believe the statistics on prayer and pastor's lives. I don't think that's too, I mean, I think

that's too our shame. But I think John O addressed the conference earlier and gave those sort of

four reasons why people struggle in prayer from bitterness to blessedness.

And I think the pastor is not immune to that.

Business is part of it.

I do think in some cases, many of us pastors, we wind up becoming pastors before we've ever been

thoroughly disciples ourselves.

And so I think there are a lot of pastors whose devotional lives are are lopsided because they've actually not had to have

the experience of an older, mature Christian or pastor really walking with them through the basics

of communing with Christ and the disciplines of the spiritual life.
