I've been watching a lot of Westerns lately. I suspect I'm not alone in that.

With Red Dead Redemption coming out and the Cohen Brothers releasing the ballot of Buster

Scruggs, I think the mythology of the Old West has been popping up in a lot of people's purview

lately.

I've always sort of liked Westerns, especially as a kid, but not really.

I watched a few of them, but most were boring and slow,

when I was pretending to be a film snob in my early 20s,

I watched The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly,

along with most of Clint Eastwood's catalogue,

and I enjoyed them, but I enjoyed them mostly for the gunfights.
