First, an apology. It has come to my attention that on the last episode of the Charles C.W. Cook

podcast, my guest, Luther Abel, made some remarks about the great state of Ohio that some listeners

felt were unkind. For that, I apologize. Ohio is, of course, a place of deep cultural importance and the setting for

and the setting for several extremely important highway interchanges and we admire its commitment

to producing presidents who are famous mainly for having been president.

And so to our listeners in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Toledo, Akron, Youngstown, and the many pretty much identical suburbs in between, please do accept our sincere apology.

so it's all right in my book. And most of those presidents from Ohio were pretty great,

whether they're remembered or not. In fact, we ought to go back as a country to having presidents who do not dominate the news or

even dominate our politics. And quite seriously, Ohio produced a good number of them. So,
