Anyway, we left off last time in late 1806.

Napoleon was in Berlin, the capital of Prussia, which had recently been occupied by French troops

after the dazzling victories of the Yena Auersteppe campaign.

While the men of the Grand Armee enjoyed a pleasant interlude from the war,

the economic struggle between France and Britain had escalated to unprecedented new lows.
