It is with SO MUCH JOY that I put this conversation in your ears and put this organization in the front of your mind. What an honor for us to get to partner with Christian Appalachian Project to bring picture books to kids in three counties of Kentucky!

Listen in as Mike from Camp AJ and I chat about all things CAP, the importance of reading, and what it is like to love your neighbor well.

Our goal this month is to raise $13,000 to provide Imagination Library for all 100 preschoolers in CAP's program in Rockcastle, Jackson, and McCreary counties for FIVE YEARS.

0:10.2	I am your host Annie F. Downs and I love giving you a Monday episode, especially when today
0:15.4	that feels really, really important.
0:18.0	So I want to tell you a story real quick.
0:20.3	A couple of months ago our friend Eddie Cuffelts, who runs the new activist podcast asked me
0:24.9	to be on his show.
0:26.5	And he asked me to tell him what nonprofit I wanted to talk about and where I was an
0:33.5	activist in the world.
0:35.1	And I kind of laughed and I was like, I'm just, I'm not.
0:37.9	Like, I give to my church, I give to friends who are doing mission work, but like I'm not
0:43.8	an activist like a lot of other people are.
0:47.4	And he said, well, what do you care about?
0:49.2	And I told him that there is this one people group that I have loved and cared about
0:54.7	and thought about since I was in middle school and it's the people who live in Appalachia.
0:59.4	And that region, that group of people, that culture stretches across 13 states.
1:06.3	And so I said to Eddie, if you will just find a way for me to help the people of Appalachia,
1:12.9	that's what I want to do.
1:13.9	Like that's, that would be like exactly how I want to spend my life.
1:17.6	And I've said it to my team multiple times over the years like, hey, let's figure this
1:21.1	out.
1:52.1	So moved by them and by what they do and by how they care for people.
1:59.6	So I knew I wanted to do something and I wanted us to get to do something together.
