welcome to Soda Jaker on songwriting.

This is Brian here with my consulieri Simon and joining us for

episode 94 is a hugely talented Anglo-American singing duo who together have

created one of our favorite albums of 2016 so far in the gorgeous Little Windows. Not only that, but both a seasoned and prolific

solo artists who each have a string of excellent records to their name, were delighted to welcome

the great Teddy Thompson and Kelly Jones to the show.

Little Windows was released in April of this year and is just an enchanting record, isn't it?

Oh yeah. The songwriting, the arrangements and the vocal harmonies unmistakably harked back to the classic pop records of the late

50s and early 60s and Teddy and Kelly sound like they were born to sing

together don't they? They've got the kind of blend nest cafe you can only dream

of. They're being studied by the guys from Johnny Walker as we speak.

Amazingingly they only met a few years ago as well but they sound like they've been

harmonised and all their lives and the vocals are really well served by the

back and band too and the tasteful, care of one Mike viola.

Good old Mike, I love that guy. He's a friend of the show, as they say on radio.

Actually, Teddy and Kelly have links with several of our former guests, don't they, Brian?

Yeah, Teddy's mom is the great folk rock singer and songwriter Linda Thompson, whom we interviewed

a little while back, and he's collaborated several times with his good friend, Rufus Wainwright, including on a song for the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack.

Kelly has worked with Mike Viola on a number of projects and has also written and performed with

Mountains of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger. Oh and Blue Sky Riders George Middleman co-wrote a song on Little Windows.

I feel like our entire back catalogue is flashing before my eyes.
