we're broadcasting live from the Bates Motel discussing the 1960 horror classic, Psycho. This film was

directed by Alfred Hitchcock from a screenplay by Joseph Stefano based on the novel of the same name by

Robert Block. Psycho has attained a status in horror and filmmaking in general, which very few films can

state claim to.

Often recognized as a proto-slasher, if not one of the very first slasher films ever made,

its influence is palpable in many other horror classics as well as many of our modern

favorites.

With its artful direction, incredible performances, memorable characters,

bold editing, iconic score, and surprising twist ending, this film is widely considered the gold

standard of suspense and has firmly cemented its place in pop culture and film history.

I had never seen this ever.

Period.

At all.

I've seen the shower scene, of course, because that's all anybody ever shows.

Yeah.

But it was okay.
