from the Kingston Falls radio station discussing the 1984 cult classic Grimlins. This film was

directed by Joe Dante and written by Chris Columbus. After changing much of the film to achieve a more

lighthearted and optimistic feel, Grimlin still brings excitement with high stakes and creepy creatures.

Blending this with cutting age puppetry for its time,

this film became an instant cult classic and a staple for many horror fans when the holidays roll around.

Kristen. So what did you guys think about Gremlin's the first time you saw it? I've seen this a million

times. I this is also within my area of things I like.

So you mean to tell me that you and Lala have a similar backstory with this film?

I don't believe it.

We used to watch it as kids.

I do.

I remember watching this as a kid and I loved it because it's, I mean, that can be terrifying. You know what I mean? A thousand little gremlin's coming at you. But then, too, you're watching it. It's like, what the fuck? It's crazy. Because they, they just want to fuck shit up. You know what I mean? So seeing that, it's like, oh, this is fun. You know what I mean? It's like, they just want to hang out, man. And destroy stuff. They're just like us. Well, I mean. I had never seen this before. Yeah. And I can very easily see how there is definitely a nostalgia factor. Because it seems like one of those movies that if you saw it as a kid, this is with you for life. For sure. I did not see it as a kid. Right. But I can see that it's an amazing bit of like gateway horror. Right. Yeah. I think that if you're trying to get your kids into horror, this is probably one of the perfect films to show them. Right. I, it was all. That's, I was watching it while we were working on this and there were a couple scenes. There's a scene in a bar that was good to and there's a scene at a movie theater and I'm like, O.T.'s gonna fucking hate this. Like, as I'm watching it, I'm like, he's gonna, he's not gonna like this. Well, I have notes. There's, I mean, there's, there's things that I would have preferred they did and things I would have preferred they didn't do. But I mean, I can't force a film to be a film I wanted to be. What do you mean? We do that often. Well, we do that a lot on the show.

I think that's how I learned. I shouldn't do that. I think for me, my, my, my biggest thing is that technically, like, as far as technical aspects. Right, right. It's a very good, well-made film. Right. I think that the tone and the story for me is where I get lost.
