Hello and welcome back to the Self-Healer Soundboard. Today's episode we're going to talk

0:09.9

about personal responsibility, which I know for many of us is both a foundational and

0:15.5

very difficult aspect of our healing journeys. Taking personal responsibility really is what

0:22.1

gives you empowerment in life and on your healing journeys and it also happens to be something

0:27.7

that is so commonly challenging for many of us. We'd much rather be kind of at a whim

0:33.3

or a victim to our circumstances and allow the world to happen to us than realizing that

0:38.9

as fully functioning adults we are responsible for how we're co-creating in the world around

0:44.3

us and how we choose to respond or react. Really, really great point to start with

0:48.7

Jenna because the large majority of us out there and probably many of you listening

0:53.1

do feel very much like a victim to your environment or like you're just reacting to the world

1:11.5

we know it day in and day out pretty much looks the same and when we're not showing up

1:16.3

and making choices we do slip into reactivity. The same events cause the same reactions

1:23.1

and we actually don't feel like we have choice at all. We become reactive, we become powerless

1:29.5

and we feel very, very disempowered. And while those feelings are incredibly valid the

1:35.7

experience of blaming someone else or blaming your past or blaming your circumstances or

1:40.6

the conditions of your life for how your life is or how you're showing up only leaves

1:46.4

you in a disempowered state. It actually allows you to then suffer and not fulfill your

1:51.7

highest self or your highest life or destiny. So to be clear most of what we're talking

1:57.7

about all of these habits and all of the patterns that live in our subconscious came from

2:01.7

somewhere typically our past experiences that we've had. It's not that we were responsible
