Today we'll be looking at what's happening to the ambitious European plans for a Green Deal.

As announced by the new president of the European Commission, Ursula Wondrelayin, in December 2019,

she called this plan Europe's Man on the Moon moment.

But instead of the word moment, her speechwriters had better chosen the word project.

Because transforming Europe's economy in a really sustainable way, meaning to respect the Paris Agreement on climate change,

and to respect planetary boundaries, a moment won't do the job. A long-term transformative project is needed.

And however, the Green Deal is still one of the best policy ideas that EU policy makers have

launched in many years, which, by the way, shows that it actually helps if they listen a bit more
