I'm Renata. And I'm Kate. Welcome to the second part of our annual end of the year book review.

Today we'll be talking about our favorite adult books and comics and graphic novels that

we read this year.

Two weeks ago we talked about our favorite children's and young adult books, so make sure

to listen to that if you missed it. So as is the case with our last

part, this is our top five favorite and one least favorite books that we read this year

outside of stuff for the podcast. So of course, the intentionally bad, not intentionally

bad, the books that we intentionally

pick for our bad book podcast are going to be the worst stuff that we read this year.

And so some of the things that we call worse might not actually be that bad.

They're just like our least favorite things that we didn't read for the podcast.

And if you've listened to this podcast before and you've listened to our, or your

wrap-ups before, you may notice there's a slight difference this year.

Usually we do a dramatic reading from what our quote-unquote worst book of the year is.

And we've actually eliminated that this year because I don't read books for my job.

So I don't read books that are bad, usually.

I stop reading them.

And then it just becomes like, oh, well, here's the book that I liked but didn't like it as much as all the other books that I read.

And it's hard to find, like, that kind of

ridiculous prose that makes dramatic reading so funny. You're just reading from a book

that's fine. So we're not doing that this year. Although, as Renata, I will say that the
