And this is our annual book year in review, part one.

So for this part, if you are new to the podcast or if you normally just skip these episodes

because you don't care about good books and you only want to hear about bad books,

this is the time of year where we put together a list of our top five best and number one worst book that we read this year

in four different categories.

This episode is going to focus on children's and middle grade and young adults.

And the next episode will be adults and comics and graphic novels.

Yeah.

And a couple of clarifying points we'd like to make.

This is not things only that were published in 2017.

It's anything that we read this year, including backlist stuff, because not everybody

reads stuff the year it comes out, okay?

God.

Also, when we say worst in this case, obviously you're used to hearing worst in a particular category here on this podcast. But this is books that we've read outside the podcast.

So for a lot of these categories, the quote-unquote

worst book that we read this year was just the least best book that we read. We might have read

10 stellar books in a particular category, but one of them has to be at the bottom of the

list. So this is not necessarily what you're going to, you've come to expect

as a worst book from us from listening to this show. Yeah, it's like five good books and one
