Summary
According to Michael Imperioli, acting is all about showing up prepared and positive. Lucky for us, that's something he's been doing on-screen for close to thirty years. Raised in New York by supportive, hardworking parents who also doubled as local actors, Michael broke out on the film scene in 1990 with a role in Martin Scorsese's classic, GoodFellas. He appeared in many memorable films of the '90s, but would ultimately become most known for his career-making role as Christopher Moltisanti on another crime saga--The Sopranos. Good-natured and open, Michael sits down with Sam this week to discuss his enduring marriage, his relationship with his father, the nerves that plagued him early in his career, and his time on the sets of Malcolm X, The Basketball Diaries, and of course, The Sopranos. http://talkeasypod.com/

| 0:36.0 | going to tell a story about loss next week, but I'd also like to hear from some of you. The concept is fairly simple. Basically I want to hear |
| 0:46.3 | about stories of loss and heartbreak that you have. It could be a relationship ending. It can be an exam paper that you didn't save properly |
| 0:57.8 | and then couldn't turn in on time. It could be the loss of a family member. It can be as grand or as trivial as you want it to be. |
| 1:07.0 | Regardless, I'm excited to hear stories which you can send to a voicemail we have set up at 630-2007-1528 or you can send them via email |

| 1:30.0 | Now back to our scheduled program with Michael Imperial. I want to start with this the book is very much about coming of age, a young man, and his childhood viewed often through the lens of his mother. |
| 2:00.0 | In the book, they're in Queens, correct? They start in Queens and then they move to Manhattan. |
| 2:06.2 | Yes. You grew up in Mount Vernon. I want to hear just off the bat where are the parallels if there are parallels between your |
| 2:15.6 | upbringing and this one all the events in the book are fictitious all the |
| 2:22.2 | the narrative there's the stories and the plotlines is all fictitious. I grew up in |
| 2:28.2 | Mount Vernon, which is the first city above New York that's in Westchester. |
| 2:35.0 | So the border of Mount Vernon borders the Bronx. |
| 2:37.8 | If you take the two subway to the last stop on the Bronx, |
| 2:41.0 | you can walk into Mount Vernon. But where I grew up, you know, I grew up there in the 70s, |
