Summary
In this episode I'm joined by Phil Costa to look back on Wednesday's 3-2 win over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at Stamford Bridge. We chat about the early goal which silenced some noisy home fans, and a relatively even first half, before Viktor Gyokeres got a much needed goal to make it 2-0. We discuss the goal we conceded before making it 3-1, and the chances we missed to go further ahead before they got another goal back. We analyse some individual performances, like Martin Zubimendi and William Saliba, and look at this is as a positive result which could have been even better, but which leaves us with some work to do in the second leg. All that, and lots more.

| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to a brand new ArsBlog arsecast right here on arseblog.com. How are you? Hope you well. |
| 0:31.3 | Thank you very much indeed. As always for being here. This morning we're going to look back on our |
| 0:36.7 | three to win over Chelsea in the Carabaut Cup |
| 0:39.9 | last night, the first leg of the semi-final. And look, a win is good. We haven't won a semifinal |
| 0:45.9 | in quite some time, so that's an improvement in and of itself. But this is a game. I think that |
| 0:50.7 | maybe Arsenal will have some regrets over big chances to make it 4-1 and to |
| 0:56.4 | basically put the tie to rest in the first leg. We don't take those chances. They score a scrappy |
| 1:03.6 | kind of goal and all of a sudden it's 3-2 and the tie is still alive. But look, that's football |
| 1:08.3 | for you and that in particular is cup football for you. However, |
| 1:11.7 | as I said, the positive is that we won the game. We went away from home. I think we did, |
| 1:16.5 | by some distance, look, the better team, the more threatening team in this game. And I think |
| 1:21.7 | there are positives that we can take from the performance collectively, and certainly with regards |
| 1:26.2 | a couple of individuals as well. |
| 1:28.9 | So let's get into that. And with me, to talk about the good stuff, the not so good stuff, |
| 1:34.2 | and everything in between is Phil Costa. Good morning, Phil. Good morning, Andrew. How are we doing? |
| 1:39.0 | We're doing all right. You know, I think you go away to Stanford Bridge, even if you have some regrets. |
| 1:46.2 | You come back to North London with a win. |
| 1:48.8 | I don't think you can argue too much. |
| 1:53.9 | There's plenty to unpack from this one, but I think overall, you know, going into this game, |
| 1:55.3 | we knew it was going to be tough. |
| 2:02.7 | We knew they were going to be up for it, given, you know, their season is not where ours is. And I think we acquitted ourselves pretty well overall. So like I said, there's lots to get into. Let's just start with |
| 2:08.5 | the team news. I guess it was pretty much as expected. The only real change or the only thing |
