Hello! Welcome to Laughter Permitted. We're so glad to spend some time with you. I'm Julie Fowdy. This is Linnel Zowie.

Helen! Hey there, Jules. This is a special episode because we were IRL as my kid say.

In real life, that's right. We recorded this interview with ESPNW Summit NYC. We had donuts. We had

0:27.5

squeaky toys, a live audience. It was heaven. And we had an awesome guest, three-time Olympic

0:37.5

medalist freestyle skier Eileen Gooh. She won gold and freesky big air, gold in the half pipe,

playing sports has. Women who play sports are more self-confident, perform better in academic

1:56.8

settings, and even go further in their careers. But women's sports received less than 1% of

2:03.1

sponsorship investments and only a fraction of media coverage. Ally decided they would try and flip

2:09.3

that script by committing to an equal media investment in women's and men's sports over the next

five years. As fans, we also have the power to do more than just cheer on our favorite teams.

2:21.2

We have the power to show that women's sports matter. Because when we watch the game,

2:26.3

we're not just supporting women on the field, pitch or court, we're supporting women in the
