And the topic today is the Bible and the lives of transgender Christians.

And our guest is Austin Hartke.

Yeah, Austin Hartke is the author of a book by a similar name called Transforming.

The Bible and the Lives of transgender Christians.

And he is the faith coordinator for gender spectrum, which helps to create inclusive environments for children and teens.

And it was a really good conversation about gender and the Bible.

Again, always having these conversations with people who have different experiences of what it means to be human

and what it means to be Christian and helping us figure out what we do with the Bible in the midst of all that.

Yeah, a Bible, again written as we all know in an ancient time and a different world and a different culture.

And things change.

We have questions in front of us today that people may not have had a few thousand years ago.

Although this is actually an old conversation, I think, to Jared.

I mean, issues of gender, we know this from the ancient church and ancient Judaism.

It's not like nobody figured this out.

But in our culture, it's sort of an electric topic for people.

It's very emotional as it should be and can be a bit threatening.

But it's something that we need to keep talking about because people's lives are hanging in the balance.
