I truly appreciate every time we have a chance to connect. So today we're going to talk about values and why they're important and how they connect to different areas of your life. So get

comfy and get ready to be coached. Let's dive right in. Now before we get

into values and how they relate to your eating and your body and your weight and your habits,

I want to mention one quick subject that somebody just wrote me a letter and mentioned this in it and it really touched me.

The letter was focused on the struggle that this person was trying to overcome related to weight and eating.

But she spent a lot of time talking about the past and talking

about what she should have accomplished but couldn't because so much of her energy was focused on eating and weight.

What I want to say to all of you is important and that is don't put your focus on the time that's past. Don't look backwards in time and think about what you wish you would have, should have, and could have done differently.

Because we can never reclaim the past we can't go backwards

so I don't want you to put any more energy into beating yourself in this way by

looking at how your life could have been different if you

would have done something differently. The fact is you're here right now. You're

working on yourself right now. There is no upside to beating

yourself about something that's already done and passed. So please put your energy into right now the present, focusing if anywhere on the future and what you want and let that focus, let that desire pull you forward toward what you want. Not stuck in the past looking
