I want to take this moment, this opportunity on this, pretty much something that has become a trend

in our culture to talk to you about giving and to invite you to partner with this ministry.

I want you to hear my heart and also may the Lord guide you in what I am going to speak about today.

I think Christians should be the most generous people on the planet.

And we should support the poor and we should support causes that are dear to God's heart

as well as dear to our own.

Paul says to Timothy in 1 Timothy chapter 6 verse 17 and he says command those who are rich

in this present age not to be haughty not to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God

who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

Let them do good that they may be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share,

storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come that they may lay hold of eternal life.

In the Old Testament, God actually asked Israel to offer five types of sacrifices.

Three of them were voluntarily, meaning they could just do it to say thank you God.

And then two of them was pretty much saying, I'm sorry God. And so God didn't do that so that Israel

could manipulate God for a personal gain. It represented a thanksgiving to the Lord and also it was something that both the poor and

the rich were able to be a part of.
