I got an Instagram message from Isaac a few weeks ago.

He had listened to Elder Jack Smith podcast, Episode 825, a black gay, Latter-day Saint on a service mission,

and reached out to me and said, could I be on the podcast?

And I said, of course you can, because we're just looking for stories from brave,

courageous people.

And Isaac is one of those.

Let me give you a little background on Isaac.

He lives in Utah County.

He is a Black Latter-day Saint.

He's adopted at about two months old. He is gay.

He's in his mid-30s. He is an active Latter-day Saint. He's also worked through prison time.

He's off parole, and I kind of wanted to figure out where he was on that journey before he was on the podcast.
