Before we jump into East Africa, I deem it best that we establish our mental map from

the start.

If you will, please picture a triangle with a small flat top that has been slightly turned

to the left.

Thus tilted, the top of the triangle is touching southern Sudan, where general platt's forces

will cross over, heading east, and make for Eritrea and northern Abyssinia.

Now go down the left side of the triangle just a bit, and that's where Wingate will attempt

to cross into Abyssinia from the Sudan, and lead Emperor Halis Alassi to Mount Baleia,

other Gajim region in northwestern Abyssinia.

And lastly, if you continue all the way down on the left hand side of our triangle, that's

where General Cunningham, stationed in northern Kenya, will cross the River Tana, head northeast,

and make for Kiss Me You, at the mouth of the River Juba, along the coast of Italian

Somali land.

He was referring to the area of Abyssinia, or Ethiopia, once it was joined to Italian Somali

land and Eritrea.

the 41-year-old cousin of the King of Italy.
