Hello everyone and welcome to the Stephen King cast, One Man's Musings on the Works of Stephen King.

Each week I will review one entry in the bibliography of Stephen King and the chronological order of publication.

And what I'm doing today is I'm going to kick off my examination of the TV adaptations of the works of Stephen King by looking once more at the 1990 It TV miniseries

starring Tim Curry.

Now, the reason why I'm looking at this again, I have reviewed it once upon a time.

Over a decade ago, I dove into it with a three-part review the book, along with a bonus episode,

and then I reviewed the TV miniseries. What I'm doing now is I'm looking once again at that

TV miniseries, but now looking at it with some time having passed between that original

review and now, which, if you take into account that original review and now, something big

has happened in pop culture. And what has happened was the release and the success of It

Chapter 1 in 2017 and It Chapter 2 in 2019 and the success of It Chapter 1 in 2017 and It Chapter 2 in 2019

and the more recent 2020 25 TV show on HBO It Welcome to Dairy.

And through these three different projects,

the thing that it has at its core is this legendary performance now.

And you can say that, that it is now a legendary, which seems crazy to me because, well, I mean, we're almost at 10 years since that first it chapter one came out, which is crazy.

I think it feels like it just happened yesterday. But it is now legendary, this Bill Scars Guard performance of Pennywise, the Dancing Clown,

which for 30 plus years, that was a legacy that you threw at the feet of Tim Curry.

You know, it was funny. My wife and I, during Christmas time, we were watching Home Alone,

too, with my daughter and Tim Curry was in there, and my wife and I are cracking up at, you know, his reactions.

And, you know, we were talking about, you know, watching Clue.

And, you know, we talked about, and I said to my daughter who, being a child of pop culture and through osmosis, though she has never seen the It movies, she is aware, even if her father wasn't the host of the Stephen King cast, she is aware

of Penny Wise, the clown.
