Producer Abby, she told us that she loves Absinth. And every Halloween, she makes Sazerax in honor of her and Hot Pots.

That's husband of the producer of the shows. Correct. First married Halloween, which they apparently spent in New Orleans. Yeah, home of the Sazerac. And I assume Abby is short for Absinth. That's right. Yeah, that's right. Absinth. Our producer is Absent Circleta. There we go. Well, anyway. Band in many countries. Yeah, yeah. She knows what she did. more about that. Okay, anyway. Band, banned in many countries. Yeah, yeah.

Although we're going to hear more about that.

Okay, yes.

Anyway, we'll come back around to Sazerax a little bit at the end, but mostly this is

an episode about the fascinating story of Absinth, which I think precedes it.

Oh, for sure.

Everybody, I think everybody who has ever been in a cocktail bar has some

sort of notion of what the deal is with absence. But I personally... But no two people can agree on

what the notion is. I personally did not know any of what I now know until yesterday.

Okay. Great. If I, if I knew then what I now know until yesterday. Okay. Great.

If I knew then what I now know yesterday, as the saying goes.

That's right.

Yeah.

My memory lane is I have had absinth in cocktails and Acott's D who is into like Victor Hugo and like old old, like like all time of European stuff Bellypoc sure asked for like absinth and like stuff for making for like serving absinth for

their 21st birthday and so and so I got them like a cheap a cheap absinth glass and spoon on

Etsy and a bottle of absinth which which is still 99% full. So, so we did, we did like a sugar cube. I think we like, like, flamed it a little. Oh, you did the flaming. And, uh, and like drank a little of it on their 21st birthday. And, uh, I haven't had any since. Okay. I don't think I've ever had it. I mean, I've definitely, I've had a Sazirac, so that that has an absinth rinse. Right. I think I've had something with an absent float, maybe. Oh, an absent float. Yes. Or as I said, float. Float. I think that we're about to learn some things. Yeah, I think maybe we're about to learn a lot of things because,

you know, we print out our agenda because we, you know, we're like a couple of middle-aged

dads who go to AAA and they have to print out the triptych. This is like a heavy, like,
