Hi, I'm Deb Beinam, the happy and very fortunate program director for the UNC Medicine Residency Program.

I learned about the clinical problem solvers from my residence, actually.

I love the mission of the clinical problem solvers to analyze, teach, and democratize the art and science

of diagnostic reasoning. Diagnostic reasoning is what I believe really makes us, internists,

different, and sets us apart from our other specialty colleagues. And residency, in my opinion,

is the most important time in one's training to really develop these skills. That's why I love

our morning report at

UNC. It's resident run. It relies upon active participation. And when the residents told me

about this program, I immediately thought of Max and Anne-Marie for this. They are always present,

engaged, and you really see the wheels turning as they ask the early questions that show how far

ahead they are in their thought process. So I'm really looking forward to hearing them on the
