I'm Chris Jensen, a Ph.D. student at Florida State University, and a bookseller at the bookshelf.

And I'm Annie Jones, owner of the bookshelf, an independent bookstore in beautiful downtown Thomasville, Georgia.

And today, Chris and i will be chatting

about the books i finished in april and there were six of them yeah slow month uh i think

slow month reading wise probably means busy in the store and we have been very busy really busy

in the store this month in fact i'm kind of exhausted and a little overwhelmed.

But that's okay because when the store is busy, that is a very good thing.

Yes, it is.

But yeah, my reading kind of suffered a little bit this month, and mentally I feel a little bit checked out.

And that's okay.

I mean, six books is nothing to sneeze at, as they say. As someone says, I'm sure. I suppose. That's true. Six books is good. So let's start from the top of this list. Read bottom up. Read bottom up. So this is a book. We always, or I feel like lately we tease in the bookshelf about the Venn diagrams of our

tastes.

And so Rebecca and I read generally pretty differently.

But we overlap what I can best describe as like cute romantic comedies.

So she and I both really liked the Rosie Project.

And she recommended read Bottom bottom up which is a story

told entirely in um texts and email exchanges which i feel like can could have gone terribly

um now i really liked the attachments by rainbow roll which is a story told entirely via email

thought that was super cute i can't remember if I read

that for a book club or just because I like rainbow roll but that was a great book and that is

what I would compare this to this takes place in more quote unquote modern times right the
